Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2001. During his education, he participated in internship programs at Yale University and University of Pittsburgh in the United States and language programs in London, England. He completed his internship period at Harvard University, and his medical specialty training at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2006.
In 2013, he started to work as a faculty member at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. In the same year, he was awarded the “Intra-European Travelling Fellowship” training scholarship of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC). In 2016, he was awarded the AAOS International Surgical Skills Scholarship by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Later on, he was awarded the “Emerging Leaders Scholarship Award” by the same organization in 2020.
Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın, who is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Turkish Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Association; served as a Committee Member of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC) Eastern Europe Region Committee, and as the Chairman of the Shoulder Surgery Board of the International Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SICOT).
Prof. Dr. Aydın who was granted the title of “Professor” in 2017, has numerous international publications and scientific projects. He pioneered the establishment of Cerrahpaşa International, the international health brand of Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, and is the founder of the İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Development Foundation, which started its activities in 2020. Elected as the President of the University Hospitals Association in January 2023, Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Teknokent A.Ş. (EnterTech).
Since 2018, he has been serving as the Founding Rector of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.
