Prof. Hülya AŞKIN BALCI graduated from Gazi University Gazi Faculty of Education in 1992 and started her academic career as a research assistant at Gazi University in the same year. She completed her master’s and doctoral education at Gazi University Institute of Social Sciences. She received the title of associate professor in the field of linguistics in 2011 and professor in 2017.
As a guest lecturer, she gave lectures at UK MLS, USA Commonwealth University, Germany Passau University and Ruhr University. She has several books and national and international publications in the field of linguistics.
Prof. Hülya Aşkın Balcı, who was appointed as İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Secretary General in 2023, is currently the Director of the Vocational School of Social Sciences and a member of the Ethics Committee and Board of Directors. She is fluent in English and German.
