Prof. Mehmet Bilgin graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering. He completed his master’s and doctorate degrees at İstanbul University, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Chemical Engineering. In 2007, he received the title of Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering and in 2013 he received the title of Professor.
He served as a member of the Ministry of Industry and Technology State-University-Industry Cooperation (KÜSİ) Working Group, Rectorate BAP Commission and ÖYP Commission, as well as various administrative duties such as the Rectorate Academic Structuring Commission, Regulation and Directive Commission and Pedagogical Formation Commission. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of İstanbul Technology Transfer Office (Istanbul TTO).
Since 2018, he has been serving as Vice Rector of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. In 2020, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bilgin became a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Development Foundation, which started its activities in 2020, and is still a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bilgin has many articles published in national and international indexed journals and projects in his field.
