Prof. Selçuk HÜNERLİ graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Librarianship in 1985. He started his career as a newspaper archivist, cartoonist and journalist. In 1993, he completed his master’s degree at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Journalism.
While continuing his doctoral studies, he joined Istanbul University Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema as a research assistant and received the title of “Doctor” in 2000. At Istanbul Kültür University, he became an assistant professor in 2002, associate professor in 2006 and professor in 2012.
In 2014, he moved to Istanbul University Hasan Âli Yücel Faculty of Education, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies and is still working as the head of the same department. Since June 2024, he has also been serving as vice dean of İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Hasan Âli Yücel Faculty of Education.
He teaches and researches in the fields of animation, semiotics, cartooning, graphic design, communication and education.
